About Us

The Wax Pear was established in 2023 as a mother daughter partnership.

Nicole is Co-Founder and Technical Director of the Wax Pear. She grew up in East Brunswick, NJ and now resides in Warren, NJ with her husband and daughter.

Nicole holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Carnegie Mellon University and has professional product development experience with food and pharmaceutical grade wax. Nicole’s experience involved candle additives, and working with large candle manufacturers on product improvement. After moving into a different area of specialty Nicole began crafting candles for friends and family, from which the Wax Pear was founded. In addition to candle making Nicole enjoys crochet, knitting, wood working and gardening.

Carole is Co-Founder and Marketing Director of the Wax Pear. She was born and raised in New Zealand, and spent several years in Australia, where she met her American husband. They migrated to the USA in 1993 and settled in East Brunswick, NJ.

Carole appreciates the climate of defined seasons here in NJ and enjoys spending hours in her kitchen garden, growing produce and keeping egg laying chickens. Having grown up around the ocean her whole life, she is never far from the sea. Carole recently took up sailing and now spends her weekends out on the Sandy Hook Bay on her sailboat “Nirvana”.

Carole's love of home décor and decorating combine with Nicole's scientific background make them a complimentary team.

All of the scents are carefully chosen to represent aspects of their lives here in NJ, from Land to the Sea.
